A Different World was a show that was special to me growing up. I loved seeing a cast that looked like me. Growing up in in the 80’s and 90’s very few shows on network TV had Black characters, let alone a cast that was ENTIRELY Black. Not much has changed unfortunately. Nevertheless, A Different World was one of the shows that left an impact on me in numerous ways.
It discussed race, diversity, abstinence, colorism, love, domestic violence, the debate between Malcolm X & Martin Luther King Jr., classism and economic issues, women’s rights, and a slew of other issues that were and are still relevant to the African-American community.
All of that aside, the one thing that stood out the most to me was the romance between Whitley and Dwayne. Of course, Dwayne first was interested in Denise, played by Lisa Bonet, but after her departure from the show he turned his attentions to Whitley. Dwayne loved Whitley and pursued her actively throughout the majority of the show. He eventually won her over despite her rejections of his advances and declarations of infatuation. Now, there was a breakup and there was reconciliation. But that reconciliation made for one of the greatest moments in TV history in my opinion.
I have an issue with the formulaic use of: a couple meets, they fall in love, a lie is told and then discovered or confessed, they break-up, and then love conquers all and the couple reunites.
BUT, IN THIS CASE I have to say I DON’T CARE. Dwayne’s EPIC moment of crashing Whitley’s wedding to Byron will forever be etched into my mind. Of course, I feel Whitley was wrong for accepting a proposal from and standing at the altar with Byron when she knew in her heart that she still loved Dwayne. Of course, I think they both should have just confessed their love and just been together. BUT THIS MOMENT, THIS MOMENT RIGHT HERE, boy…. Just watch for yourself and tell me that it doesn’t do something to you.

Naruto Chapter 631 Recap
By: Denzel Lamar
Wednesday, May 22, 2013
Hey what's going on BlerdNation? This is "The Black Chivalrous Nerd", Denzel Lamar, and today I will be talking about the latest chapter of Naruto that came out today. As most Naruto Readers know, we are still in the middle of the 4th Great Ninja War and Orochimaru, who was resurrected by Sasuke Uchiha, has resurrected the past four Hokage and are now heading towards the fight to help Naruto and the Allied Shinobi Force defeat Obito Uchiha, Madara Uchiha and the Juubi (Ten Tailed Beast) that they have revived.
In the last chapter we got the cliffhanger of the fourth hokage Minato Namikaze (Naruto's Dad) and in this chapter it opens with Minato arriving and getting ready for a fight while Sakura is attempting to heal Naruto.
Soon after Minato arrives, the other three hokages are right behind him and everyone from the Hidden Leaf Village is shocked and in awe at the fact that their fallen leaders are back and according to Madara, he was anxiously awaiting the return of The First Hokage Hashirama Senju but unfortunately Hashirama has other plans.
so as the Hokages get ready to confront the Juubi, Naruto's dad tells Sakura to keep healing Naruto and that a friend of theirs will be coming shortly and he will be on their side and then he shows how much of a badass that he is and uses the remaining nine tails chakra that he had sealed away and has activated the Bijuu mode(Controlled Tailed Beast Chakra Mode) and then him and the other hokages created a barrier that would hold the Juubi from attacking anymore. While that was happening, an old friend finally arrived to the battlefield and is prepared to fight
That's right, Sasuke Uchiha has finally made it to the battlefield and everyone from the Leaf except for Sakura and Naruto were very upset with him showing his face and wanted to end him right then and there but he said he wants to save the Village because he wants to become Hokage so he can make the village out of his image. That news struck a nerve in Naruto and he was ready to fight again and basically told Sasuke that Sasuke will have to wait for a while because Naruto will be Hokage first. Then Naruto thanks Sakura for healing him and tells her to fall back as he and Sasuke go into battle and Sakura basically stepped up to them and said Hold Up Son, I'm not a useless Medical Ninja anymore because Lady Tsunade trained me and I'm ready to show my true power. That made my jaw drop because my prediction is that Sakura has her Very own Sage Mode and that shouldn't be a surprise seeing as her mentor was a member of Team Sage along side Naruto's Teacher Jiraya and Orochimaru.
Then the final image you see is an image that every fan of Naruto has been dying to see since Sasuke left the village to go train with Orochimaru and that was the Reunion of Team 7.
Man this chapter was definitely one chapter that all Naruto fans have waited to see ever since the Fourth Great Ninja War started and got really heated. But now that Kishimoto has done this I believe that next week's chapter will be going back and forth between this fight and the fight between Kakashi Hatake and Obito Uchiha. Either way I'm REALLY EXCITED about this now.
Okay guys that's all for now make sure you share this post, check out the other BlerdNation bloggers' post and remember, When in doubt just Nerd it out.
Alright guys this is "The Black Chivalrous Nerd" Denzel Lamar signing off. Until Next time, Love Peace and Bacon Grease Smoke Bombs out

By: Shala Thomas

My name is Shala. Thanks to BlerdNation graciously inviting me into the blog family, I’ll be the featured film blogger, covering all things related to movies, especially independent film.
I have been involved in the film bloggers community for over a year now, maintaining my own blog Life Between Films, an online journal of sorts of my perspectives, thoughts, and experiences with independent film. In my blog I also discuss how film has influenced my personal style and musical tastes. For the past four years, I have traveled around North America attending film festivals (Sundance, Tribeca, Toronto), screening some of the best cinematic features, and meeting aspiring filmmakers and fans of film. In addition, I am currently a film festival contributor for The Large Association of Movie Blogs (LAMB) as well as a features writer for Filmophilia, a international movie site.
Now I am bringing some of my experiences to BlerdNation where I will focus on "hipster" films and other creative things blerds may be interested in. Also, I am open to interviewing filmmakers with projects to promote and/or discuss.
All suggestions for my film posts are welcomed; please let me know what you are most interested in. Don’t be afraid to reach out to me with your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas (leave a comment or email me)!

Dear ______ (Insert your name here)
Go to a quiet place. Close your eyes. Now imagine something you have always wanted to do, see, have or experience. Let it be some huge, amazing, juicy dream of yours. Im here to tell you If you can dream it you can draw it to yourself. (I am living proof) No it's not magic or voodoo but its all part of the amazing guidance system that we all have. A spark we are all born with. My passion and my purpose is to help people awaken to this and to discover their own unique super power that will super charge their dream lives. Hi, my name is Ayesha and I have always been a spark seeker. I am here (on this planet) to challenge the status-quo, be a helper (I know you want to know what your super power is?), eat Indian food frequently and dutch apple pie a little less frequently, travel, create, dream, write, radiate positivity, and experience as much as I can. I will be writing about many enlightening topics such as: mind body & spirit, love, the law of attraction and much more. If you have questions or suggestions for articles don't hesitate to holla.
Peace and Love,
Ayesha"Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real.. it is possible.. it's yours."
