  • I am BlerdNation because...

I can talk politics, sports, literature and pop culture with authority passion. I'm athletic and can make the mitts pop when I hit the boxing gym. I make the best ribs, crack the funniest jokes, and can hold my alcohol with best of them. I manage a team of highly skilled IT professionals and when push comes to shove can still crank code if need be. I am blerdnation because... What else would I be?

  • Who is your blerd role model? Why?

Too many to chose but let's keep it contemporary. Talib for his lyrical gymnastics and social conscious flow. Spike Lee for being the smallest guy with the loudest voice. Denzel for his professionalism and volunteerism. And Barack Obama because he makes that shit look easy

  • How do you stay connected to other blerds?

Social media sites most namely twitter

  • What’s your most awkward blerd moment?

Winning Rotary Honor Roll in middle school, being too poor to afford a suit, and being the only kid of color to represent my school.

  • What’s your favorite word/phrase?

As a I writer I love words but I don't have a favorite right now

  • What are you listening to, watching, or reading that impacts you or that is giving you a different perspective?

I listen to mostly old skool Hip-Hop. My pandora station is stuck on Public Enemy. So the perspective or attitude I have today is probably inspired from that. And also my favorite book Toni Morrison's "The Bluest Eye" is a constant reminder to be braver in my writing but remain humble.

  • What is your favorite quote?

Toni Morrison's "If there's a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it."

  • Are there any famous, or not-so-famous, people that you think would be a great addition to BlerdNation?

I have some friends who I think would be perfect but I better ask first before I post their names

  • What advice would you give to other blerds?

Not big on advice but the one thing I preach to my children and everyone is don't wait until tomorrow. If you want to write a book start today. Call your mom? Do it today. Go to the gym? Do it today. Time is precious and the older we get the less we have
