  • I am BlerdNation because...

I love so much of nerd culture - sometimes even the frustrating parts. I enjoy connecting with other blerds and think it's a conversation we should be having!

  • Who is your blerd role model? Why?

No one! Though, I do admire the community Jamie from Black Girl Nerds has created!

  • How do you stay connected to other blerds?

Twitter mostly. I don't know too many, so that's the most efficient way.

  • What’s your most awkward blerd moment?

When I call myself awkward (on account of my blerdness) and people don't see the connection between developing social skills + being ostracized + difficulty to relating to non-Blerds.

  • What’s your favorite word/phrase?

"Do or do not. There is no try." - Yoda

  • What are your goals/passions?

    • To work in tech as a programmer - To make mobile games!! - To write a novel <3 - To live abroad permanently
  • What are you listening to, watching, or reading that impacts you or that is giving you a different perspective?

Raptitude is this REALLY awesome personal development blog. It's not fluffy, and the blogger has this great insight that is well articulated throughout his posts. I love it.

  • Are there any famous, or not-so-famous, people that you think would be a great addition to BlerdNation?

Hm... I guess Zoe Saldana?? Who knows!

  • What advice would you give to other blerds?

Just do you. And try to meet other blerds too!

  • What book/movie/etc really helped shape your [current] perspective?

Ayn Rand's work, particularly The Fountainhead. Taught me a lot about individualism and being willing to fight for yourself.
