Ayesha – 33 – Event Planner/Spark Seeker – Chattanooga, TN

Bio

Hello, my name is Ayesha. I love living life. I travel as much as humanly possible. If I don't have BIG plans I must be having a bad bad day! I do yoga. I meditate. I read. I love 100%. I am a spirit junkie and being creative makes me happy. I co-own a wedding + event planning business by day and I blog about all things related to spirituality by night. I am writing a manual for those who want to live the most radical version of their life. I trust the universe and that my life is unfolding just as it should. A day that includes vegan dutch apple pie is a great day in my book!

  • I am BlerdNation because...

I whole hardheartedly embrace every aspect of what makes me, me. Including but not limited to: my natural hair, my love of books, culture, travel, and awkward moments. I welcome activities, people, places, food, travel and more that defy stereotypes. I just do me.

  • Who is your blerd role model? Why?

I have many strong women I admire like: Angela Davis, Frida Kahlo, Solange, Lena Duhnam, Zadie Smith, Traci Ellis Ross, Lisa Bonet, Shingai Shoniwa, and Issa Rae just to name a few. I love strong women who march to the beat of their own drummer at all costs. But honestly my parents, If I had to name a role model. They empowered me to know that I could be anything or go anywhere. That knowledge has always stuck with me.

  • How do you stay connected to other blerds?

I find that like usually attracts like. So I would say just keep doing what you are doing and the right people, places, and circumstances will always be put in your path.

  • What’s your most awkward blerd moment?

It usually happens when people are making small talk. If I hear, "I bet you like Lenny Kravitz" one more time I might cut someone.

  • What’s your favorite word/phrase?

Ain't nobody got time for that. Thank you Sweet Georgia.

  • What are your goals/passions?

I want to live the most radical life possible. I don't want to pinned down to a certain title, job, or region for that matter. I want to wander free and help people live their most juicy lives. I especially want to empower young people/women to embrace their inherent spiritual nature. To know that we are all sparks of the divine. We can do, be, or have anything we desire. Our potential is limitless and our dreams should be the same.

  • What are you listening to, watching, or reading that impacts you or that is giving you a different perspective?

My new years resolution is to read at least 12 books this year. I just got done reading May Cause Miracles by Gabrielle Berstein. It's a simple easy read that promises miracles in 40 days or less. So far it has beyond delivered. It's a new and straight forward way to look at every aspect of your life with new miracle goggles. It really has put a new perspective on how I see the world and my life. I have come to expect miracles as a natural state. I highly recommend this book.

  • What is your favorite quote?

I am quote junkie but this one always gives me goose bumps. "Stop acting so small. You are the universe in ecstatic motion." Rumi

  • Are there any famous, or not-so-famous, people that you think would be a great addition to BlerdNation?

My hubby would be a great feature. He is one of the most creative and capable human beings I know. He can look at something and visualize a design. Last week I walk outside an hour after one of his brainstorms and he had constructed a geodesic dome from pallets for a small sweat lodge. Not to mention he is easy on the eyes and has the biggest heart.

  • What advice would you give to other blerds?

To embrace every single thing that makes you unique. Eventually those are the qualities that other people are going to gravitate towards. To know that there are others like you and to love the questions. (*See Rainer Maria Rilke)
